Fire Sprinkler Design

The design of your fire sprinkler system is the first step in providing the best fire protection for your building or business.

We work on all types of projects such as:

Add and relocation of heads on existing systems for remodels where you provide the existing system as-builts or system survey information
Single family homes in accordance with NFPA 13D
Multi family homes, apartments, condos, dorms, motels, hotels, senior care, etc in accordance with NFPA 13 / 13R
Commercial stores, restaurants, offices, hospitals, schools, churches, distribution centers, warehouses, etc in accordance with NFPA 13
Industrial paint booths, factories, conveyor systems, airplane hangars, transformers, etc in accordance with NFPA and or the project's special requirements

Design is done by, in, and can include:

Design work performed by a minimum NICET III certified sprinkler designer
Drawings produced in AutoCad using HydraCAD
Hydraulic calculations done in HydraCalc
Cutting, tagging, and material listing using HydraList
PDFs of design drawings and calculations delivered to you via e-mail or link for large files
We can provide a 3D drawing that can be imported into a BIM model

- The type, size, and complexity of the project
- The desired level of design detail
- How much support you need from design
- The availability of CAD background drawings
- The reviewing authorities (A&E, Insurance, Local AHJ, Etc.)
- How much work we do with you
- Your design budget

Consulting

FireWater Design offers professional consulting priced per project or at an hourly rate. (Consultation is included on all projects we are designing)

For Owner / Tenant:

Determining your facilities use / storage ability with the existing sprinkler system.

Determining sprinkler system requirements to meet your use / storage needs.

Help you understand and resolve code compliance issues such as failed inspection reports in the most economical way.

For Sprinkler Contractors:

Full review of sales and operations to ensure your company is as profitable as possible.

Help resolve code compliance issues such as an existing design submittal that has been rejected by an AHJ and needs revisions and/or clarifications beyond your teams ability to gain approval.

Review fire sprinkler plans for NFPA compliance ahead of submittal and note on plans "Checked By" with minimum NICET 3 certification. For this service we must see the plans and calculations ahead of pricing. Sometimes design documents can't be brought into compliance without essentially redoing everything. When this happens we can let you know without the need to charge for the initial review.

Review or assemble bids / sales estimates to ensure everything is covered and the project is profitable.

Aid in state licensing procedures and requirements.
